Does the Operator allow a period of grace? was created by Lindsay Heyes
The Parking Management Company applies much more generous consideration and grace periods at the Wye Valley Visitor Centre than our local county council applies in any of its car parks
  • You get 10 minutes from entry during which you can drive out without enforcement for non-payment This "consideration period" is twice as long as Herefordshire Council allow, and twice that required by the British Parking Association Code of Practice;
  • You can pay by cash or card at any time before exit Herefordshire Council allows no such "grace period", only 5 minutes from your entry time;
  • You can extend your parking by cash or card at any time before exit if you overstay Herefordshire Council requires you to return and pay before your paid period expires;
  • The Wye Valley Visitor Centre car park is the only one in Symonds Yat to have a "Park & Go" grace period Call paybyPhone during office hours to make a card payment to a human up to midnight after you leave the car park, for example if you had no means of paying before leaving the car park.
Consideration and grace periods are not permits to park free of charge nor absolution from ParkingEye's Terms and Conditions for those periods If you stay longer than the consideration period, then you must pay for your session within the grace period, starting from your time of entry, exactly as with barrier car parks. This is in accordance with the British Parking Association Code of Practice . When all is said and done, time is of the essence and it is your responsibility to either depart within the consideration period or declare your full vehicle registration correctly and to make timely payment for the whole duration of your stay, by the end of the grace period.

Please respect that Wye Valley Visitor Centre staff have no discretion to extend consideration or grace periods, nor any duty to give customer support on parking issues Information given by Centre staff about services provided by ParkingEye or paybyPhone is out of courtesy and in good faith in the manner of any tourist information and is not intended to form a contract, or modify your contracts with ParkingEye or paybyPhone, or constitute legal advice.
