How is my parking period calculated? was created by Support
Your parking session is timed by ParkingEye's ANPR system from when you drive in, no matter what method of payment you use If you remain in the car park for 10 minutes, you must pay for the time from when you entered. See the Tariff boards in the car park for the definitive Terms and Conditions. Unlike other car parks, you can pay at any time before you leave, and you can top up after your session expires to cover any extra time you stayed - but paying for a 4 hour parking period after you have been parked for 3 hours and 55 minutes does not create a paid period of 7 hours 55 minutes.

PaybyPhone's app displays a warning that you should check the information displayed where you are parked for the definitive Terms and Conditions. Metric Elite LS Pay & Display ticket machines, the paybyPhone systems, and your card provider only "know" when you paid, no camera data is passed to them from ParkingEye. The start of your session is not the time printed on your receipt, nor the time from which paybyPhone calculates the expiry time they display nor the time on their notifications. We recommend that you set your own timer when you arrive, and remember - you can top up before you leave if you overstay, so you don't have to fret about getting back to your car.

PaybyPhone offers generic paid periods which can be shorter than those on Parkingeye's tariff boards Both the fee and parking period will be adjusted to match the tariff displayed, so if you select 30 minutes, you will pay for and get the minimum 4 hour parking period.

Your paid parking period is continuous from your entry time If you pay for 4 hours, you can drive out at any time to return later, but driving out does not pause timing. Your paid parking period will still end 4 hours after you first drove in. For example, if you park for two hours and drive out for an hour then return, you will then have one hour left - not two hours.
